Borden Ln. Films First Animated Short
AMÁLI is about creating a third language. This animated short film about three generations of Latin-American women explores their experience with aging, disability, and legacy.
About the Writer: Victor Vazquez
Victor Vazquez is a PEN Center USA Emerging Voices Fellow, and a LAMBDA Literary Emerging LGBT Voices Fellow. He holds two playwriting commissions with the award-winning professional theatre company 24th Street Theatre, and one with Santa Clarita Shakespeare Festival. He is a recipient of the Hispanic Scholarship Fund McNamara Creative Arts Grant, and holds two bachelor degrees from UC Irvine’s undergraduate creative writing emphasis program and drama (directing honors) program. He currently serves as a Community Organizer in the Artistic Department at The Pasadena Playhouse in Pasadena, CA where he manages a half a million dollar initiative titled Mi Historia, Mi Manera which aims to increase adult Latino participation in the arts throughout San Gabriel Valley. He was previously employed by Center Theatre Group in Downtown Los Angeles, where he served as Program Associate in the Education and Community Partnerships Department. Spanish is his native language. He was born in Compton, CA, and now lives in Los Angeles. (www.Victor-TheWriter.com)
